          "It’s more fun in the Philippines", this is the famous tagline of our country which is indeed true, a lot of people even from other countries will agree to this truly. Philippines have been one of the countries in the world which was given by a lot of majestic landforms and bodies of water. Aside from these natural resources, are great people, no wonder people from other countries will always be coming back to this place that is fall of splendor.

   But with the exception of the above mentions there are also a lot of things that people must explore from our beloved country, and these are the different delicacies that are originally found here.
Desserts are one of the Filipino Delicacies that allures both local and foreign people. And it's already the trade of the Filipino desserts to be made up of the crops that originally grows here.
Filipino desserts such as leche flan, puto, bibingka, puto bungbong, kutsinta, turon and many more. To have an overview to the best Philippine desserts, lets discussed the top 5 Best Philippine Desserts...


  Top 5 Philippine Dessert 


  1. Bibingka (Rice Cake)
       - Philippine native rice cake, a mixture of rice flour, coconut cream, coconut wine (tuba) and sugar, mixed together and cooked in oven, the special kind has whole egg, salted egg, or chunk of cheese added on top \devil’s food cake. Everyday's "merienda" for everyone.

Ingredients :
  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 3 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 can (400 mL) coconut milk
  • 1 banana leaf (optional)
  • 1 tbsp. unsalted butter, sliced
  • 2 tbsp. fresh (or frozen) grated coconut
Procedures :
  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).  Prepare a lightly greased 8 x 3 in. round baking pan. Alternatively, lined with banana leaf, if using (cut according to the size of the pan); set aside. The banana leaf adds fragrance to the cake when cooked. To make individual cakes, line a 4 in. wide and 2-1/4 in. deep mini pan with 5 in. banana leaf (if using).
  2. In a bowl, place rice flour, brown sugar, baking powder, eggs, melted butter and coconut milk; mix thoroughly.
  3. Pour batter mixture into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour or until browned (a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean).
  4. Place the cake onto a serving platter and put butter slices on top. Sprinkle with grated coconut.
                                               

                                                                                                               
   
2. Leche Flan (Milk Cheese)

   Leche Flan is mostly served  on special occasion for its special taste that everyone will love. Leche Flan is a creamy custard with caramelized sugar on its top.    Filipino leche flan uses both evaporated and condensed canned milks aside from the usual ingredient of eggs, sugar and vanilla. 



Ingredients :
  • 12 egg yolks
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 pint Vit D milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla (lemon essence or peppermit can be substituted)

Procedure :

1. Blend all ingredients in a blender. 
2. Pour mixture into a loaf tin lined with caramelized sugar. 
3. Cover with aluminum foil. 
4. Place tin in a larger baking pan half-filled with water. 
5. Place pan in pre-heated oven (375 F) and bake flan for about 1 hour or until it is firm. 





         3.  Puto (Steamed Rice Cake) 

        The most popular in the kakanin family is “puto” or  steamed rice cake, which appears white in its traditional form, to be topped with butter. Additions of ube and pandan change its color and flavor. Salted egg is also used as topping.




4.  Sapin - Sapin (Steamed Sweet Rice Pie)

  
  - is a layered glutinous rice and coconut dessert in Philippine cuisine. It is made from rice flour, coconut milk, sugar, water, and coloring with coconut flakes or chocolates sprinkled on top.




    
        5. Turon (Banana Lumpia)
      
        is a Philippine snack made of thinly sliced bananas (preferably Saba or Cardaba bananas) and a slice of jackfruit, dusted with brownsugar, rolled inspiring wrapper and fried. Served at snack time.
